I haven’t posted in a while due to several factors including depression and some serious problems at home but I did complete a painting so I thought I would post here. This was originally planned as a realistic landscape but I defaulted to a more expressionist/symbolist or surrealist style. Not sure as yet of title. Thinking of “Through the Gates.” I do not expect anyone is going to want to use this for any commercial purpose but please respect the copyright.

About kinneret
Hello, and welcome.
I'm writing this blog under an alias. Why an alias?
I started to write what may be described as an "American Gothic" novel (sort of Henry James/ Franz Kafka with violence) with some autobiographical details. ..when I started this blog I just decided to use the alias.
This blog is about art and art history, but my interests also include literature, film analysis, psychology, forensic psychology, faerie tale analysis, cognitive therapy, cognitive linguistics, classical theater, World War II, and Russian and British history. My favorite writers include Kafka, the Brontes, and Philip K Dick. Thank you for reading this blog and I will happily reply to any comments.
I am very sorry about your harsh circumstances and hope things get much better soon. Missed you, glad to see you back. The picture/s give me much to think about, and the thoughts can change daily. Wall worthy. Not to go too far, but the sunrise?/sunset/? over the small dark sea causes interest. Much more for thought.
probably sunset, considering how things are going in my life marblenecltr, LOL.
Think daylight saving time! (If you hadn’t written “LOL,” I would not written those four words.) I am seeing increasing causes for unhappiness (to put it mildly.) If misery loves company, we are living in a world abounding in love. War scenes, potential/probability for great violence, weather problems, … There will always be a sunrise. Is that Hallmark Card material or what?
Beautiful colors. You can feel the warmth.
Thank you, Sonni. I hope you are well, thinking of you.
Hope things are on the mend…keep up the good work, I know it can seem a thankless task writing about imaginary characters in imaginary situations or painting scenes but you efforts are truly appreciated.
Thank you. These days I am painting almost compulsively as if it would make pain and problems go away.
Will it can’t hinder, can it? So carry on.
thank you. I’ll visit your site again– I always enjoyed being in touch with you. I’m glad your life is not as complicated as this. I have too many sick kids and mental illness is the worst.
I will look forward to your visit and concentrate on the small pleasures. Not great advice but still.
Loving Painting – untitled the more I see it; hating your pain responsible for your need to create your work. Hope it brings great relief.
Thank you. i have an update to this one….i guess i will post it…ty
It’s beautiful.
Thank you so much!
You’re welcome
